„Milioane de persoane primesc anual, la nivel mondial, diagnosticul de cancer cutanat. Boala se poate vindeca, dacă este depistată la timp, prin biopsie şi dacă este tratată prin metode performante”, a declarat dr. Mihaela Leventer, dermatolog.
În România, cancerele cutanate sunt depistate mai ales la persoanele cu vârste de peste 60 de ani, care nu s-au protejat în tinereţe împotriva ultravioletelor. Cele mai expuse sunt cele cu pielea deschisă, fenotip 2, care au stat mult în aer liber, care au lucrat în soare şi care nu s-au protejat niciodată. Contează şi moştenirea genetică, însă prejudecăţile şi amânarea vizitei la medic fac cele mai multe victime.
